Reflections of a Course Coordinator
HARIDASS KAUR, PHD, ON FEBRUARY 2010'S MIND & MEDITATION COURSE
My time in Dashmesh Sadan is fondly remembered as a warm homecoming. After hours on the rough highways of India, we came to the pearly white towers of Yogi Bhajan's residence, in Anandpur Sahib's Village Bani. Surrounded by the peaceful hills of Guru Gobind Singh, I start to appreciate the history that makes up the energy field of this sacred space.

Through the gates, I can see Yogi Ji's house far up the hill behind the well manicured garden reminiscent of old English mansions. The double grand stone stairs lead me from the garden to his front door. With permission to enter, inside is as if a museum, his home left intact as if he had just gotten up to start a day. I can feel his immense presence as I stare at the gallery of photos in his living room. I see the old days of 3HO during the summer of love doing yoga out in the fields, Yogi Ji with the Pope, the Dalai Lama, Swami Satchitananda Ji, and many others from different lineages. As I'm guided through his home, amidst his furnishings and altar, doors look out into the garden. Like a bubbling fountain, my tears burst and roll down my face uncontrollably. I am overwhelmed with this feeling of gratefulness. I have never felt him so close. How could a man I never met change me so much? I am so blessed to be in the teachings this lifetime and for his presence on planet earth that has created this legacy of light, love, and service.

MORE FOR TEACHERS TO LEAD TRAININGS HERE
In my years of group travels, I have to say hands down, Dashmesh Sadan is the perfect location to take groups for training. The spaciousness and the cleanliness of the rooms is remarkable. I think these are the cleanest bathrooms in all of India! I am so impressed. Located out in the fields and surrounded by farmland, Dashmesh Sadan offers a peaceful sanctuary from the madness and liveliness of India. It truly is a place where one can maintain a meditative space while still in a group setting. The large classroom is perfect for sadhana as it is isolated from the bedrooms and has a great view of the valley below. The bedrooms are clean and well maintained. Large closets, desks, and beds provide a comfortable setting for up to 3 people. With 9 rooms fully furnished, we can be flexible with our group size.

The food is freshly cooked on site by a loving crew. Ample Yogi Tea and water is served daily. The sun greets us after sadhana as we sip our Yogi Tea. Such a refreshing way to start the day!

The dining area is outdoors where one can see the surrounding scenic view of the mountains and valleys. When we feel like leaving the coziness of Dashmesh Sadan, we just walk 20 minutes down the road pass the Indian buffalo in the fields and village homes into the town.

The highlight of our stay at Dashmesh Sadan was the historical tour of the various Gurdwaras led by one of the facility managers. I have visited many places in India but this area holds a special significance. Visiting the home of the Khalsa, Takhat Gurdwara Kesghar Sahib, I bowed down where the Beloved Five gave their lives to start the Khalsa. We visited Guru Teg Bahadur's home, Guru Ka Mahal. And, one of Guru Gobind Singh Ji's forts in the area, Taragarh Sahib where 500 Braham Gyanis meditated and held the fort amidst the surrounding battlefields - now farmland or still wild.

I plan to make this a regular stop on my journeys to India. It brings me great joy and peace of mind to know the groups I lead will be well taken care of here. Thank You SatSundri Kaur and Guru Dharm Kaur for holding the space for us. Sat Nam.

GuruMeher Singh has been a regular with us at Dashmesh Sadan, bringing students annually for his Kundalini Yoga & Meditation Courses. His next Course at Dashmesh Sadan, with Hari Dass Kaur coordinating, is scheduled for February 9-18, 2011. Visit his website at www.yogicadventures.com
